happy lunar new year!
it’s the year of the pig in the chinese zodiac,
so i wanted to make a cake inspired by maple bacon elements.
i used bak kwa,
charcoal-grilled, sweet-salty meat slices that have a beautifully smokey flavour.

i also added some nostalgic iced gems & local florals.
most fun of all,
i hid some silver-dusted chocolate nuggets that flowed abundantly when the cake was cut!

because, it’s all about happiness & prosperity for an auspicious new beginning!
& the cake was chamomile + vanilla tea-infused, with passionfruit curd & white chocolate ganache!
