Valentine’s Day is
flowers & cake.
every occasion involves cake for me these days.
but the roses are flourishing
& chocolate is everywhere,
so this cake is all about
a little floral explosion!
i topped this little ditty with some fresh flowers, gilded leaves, crystals & gold maltesers,
but you can decorate it however you like,
preferably taking inspiration from one of the great poets & their alluring verses.
oh, & did i mention that the cake is strawberry, rose & white chocolate?
ps. i’ve had a few requests for custom cakes, so for anyone looking for something special for your loved one, head over to my cakery at Cake & Wildflour!
“She walks in beauty, like the night
of cloudless climes & starry skies;
& all that’s best of dark & bright
meet in her aspect & her eyes;
thus mellowed to that tender light
which heaven to gaudy day denies.”
― Lord Byron, She Walks in Beauty
. . just sayin’
“i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; & whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)”
― E. E. Cummings, i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)
